Schenectady City School District Farm to School Program
Rebekka Henriksen is the Farm to School Project Manager for Schenectady City School District and a Certified Garden Educator. In this role, she works with the "Three Cs": Classroom, Cafeteria and Community, prioritizing improved food access, equity and nutrition for students. She has worked on various infant and child health projects for more than a decade, including advising on projects with The National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ) and the New York State Department of Health. She is also a long-time La Leche League Leader. As a low-income mother, Rebekka experienced food insecurity first hand, relying on local food pantries, the universal free breakfast & lunch program in Schenectady City School District, Summer Meals and federal benefits such as WIC and SNAP to feed her three children.
