Leah Egnaczyk is the Manager for Urban Farms of the Sycamore Collaborative, where they oversee the programs and operations of 2.4 acres of community urban farming in the Upper State Street, Vale, and Hamilton Hill neighborhoods of Schenectady. Leah started working in agriculture for Cornell Cooperative Extension in 2013 for the Roots & Wisdom Program. From there, they interned at the Vale Urban Farm studying herbalism in the apothecary gardens, and eventually joined the farm staff in 2020 under Schenectady Urban Farms. A Schenectady native and passionate about the city they grew up in, they see the growth that has happened over the years and the work that is yet to come. Leah pursued undergraduate studies in Wellness and Alternative Medicine at Northern Vermont University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree.
