Dan studied health management and behavioral economics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he founded EatWell. EatWell is a Food is Medicine solution delivered through 1115 waivers to solve for food insecurity and chronic cardio metabolic disease. During this time, he worked at the Mattapan Farmers Market for two years, gaining deep insight in the cooking and nutrition challenges faced by families. This experience also helped him understand the tastes and values of the communities EatWell serves. Dan enjoys spreading his learnings throughout the country so other health systems may benefit

Overview of Food As Medicine Interventions
The session goal is to illustrate how--in addition to income--other social determinants of health pose a barrier to food security; consider the diversity of Food is Medicine (FIM) treatment options; and understand the different types of benefits different solutions offer, and what interventions might work best for different patients.
