Angelo Calbone is the Director of Community Services at LifeWorks Community Action in Saratoga County, NY. He also sits on the board for The Food Pantries For The Capital District. LifeWorks operates multiple food programs including a Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, Summer Lunches, Farmers Market Style distributions and a Thanksgiving Basket program. Each month the LifeWorks Food pantry serves 700 families 23,000 meals and the Soup Kitchen serves nearly 4,000 meals. Last year’s Thanksgiving Basket Program served 1500 families. Throughout the past 4 years LifeWorks has introduced full-choice on-line ordering and delivery as a major way of connecting food to people, about 75% of pantry services and 60% of Thanksgiving Baskets are delivered.

Prior to joining LifeWorks Angelo had a decade of experience in hospitality management focusing on the guest’s experience. Using what he has learned, each interaction and decision has a focus on customer experience as well as impact.

Why do I do it? I have always worked with people in the service industry. One of the things that I love from my job is the ability to work with people to make a difference, but more importantly that I can now do it without charging someone at the end of the interaction.
